When I was 6yrs in 1963 my family briefly lived in Anaheim CA .I remember Uncle Jack watching my cousin Zoann,my brother Tom & me. We liked when Uncle Jack babysat us because he let us make our own Koolaid! He also bought me a doll because I didn't have any toys.I remember that he got us a huge spiral, rainbow colored lollipop from Knotts Berry Farm. I have always loved my kind hearted Uncle Jack ??
The first time I met Jack was in Parma Ohio when my husband Ronnie took me out to meet his family for the first time. I remember how sweet I thought Jack was and you could see how happy he was to see Ronnie again. We had a wonder two week stay in Ohio and got to know Jack well. Years later we were in a bind and needed a place to stay. Jack without hesitation told Ronnie to come to South Carolina and he would help us out. Truly he was always thinking of others and would do anything he could to help. He loved spoiling our son Sean during that time and they grew close. Jack even came out to see us in California. We have so many great memories of Jack, and I always have a smile on my face when thinking of him. Funny how families are the same and different in so many ways….our son has a lot of similar personality traits that resemble Jack, especially his love of sweets and often times being very head strong! Jack always went his own way in life and touched many people that he knew. We will miss you Uncle Jack, but happy you are now with Bobby, your Mom Leddy and Dad, brothers Tom and Bob. To the great man who loved coffee! I will always miss your stories of the Air Force, and swapping stories of fixing broken planes… His imagination always made me smile, and wonder at the same time. Jack has provided a place for me to sleep many times while I was in town. I remember many weekends as a child with Uncle Jack going to parks, watching movies, eating ice cream, visiting family, and fishing. We have sat and talked of great books over the past few years, it was very seldom I could mention a book he had not read. I will always remember him as a selfless man with a huge heart who would give his shirt to anyone in need. I like to think of him right now pain free enjoying time with his parents, brothers, and Bobby. I would also like to say from one veteran to another… Thank you for serving. You will always be missed, and I will always laugh at your Air Force stories. May the rest of the family find peace from our memories of him, and may friends and family provide comfort. where do I start….I was blessed to meet my best friend, Tracie at the age of 9 years old. This year we are celebrating 40 years of friendship. We have shared everything in life, laughter, tears, distance, weddings, babies, and sadly death of our love ones. Your family is my family, your kids our my kids, your tears are my tears. My heart goes out to you and the family. Your dad was a good man and I know he knows the love you all had for him. I know he is heaven playing soccer with Bobby. MAY TIME HEAL YOUR SORROW.
