My Oldest Brother; By far the strongest, physically and will power. he taught me a lot in my youth.
He sure was strong; i'll relate one episode i'll never forget. It was on a Sat .morn. Dad said something about getting the back yard mowed, Jim was laying on the couch. A while later i was out side in the back yard; Mom and Dad pull in the drive, about a minute or two later all hell broke loose. The kitchen door exploded open, i looked up it was Jim, coming off the back porch, (he cleared all three steps) with Dad right behind with Mom's wash tub stick. Jim hit that mower, which was a steel, no motor, reel type. (that i couldn't even budge) i never saw grass fly so high in my life, clean over his head, way over. It was a sight to behold.
He also taught me how to drive, he would take me with him to Parkertown for a load, Up shift, down shift, split shift, all 15 gears at the right time. He was a marvel to me. Hell, he handled a truck with such skill, i'd got in if it didn't have breaks. It didn't matter, Jim could handle it, that i knew.
Iam going to miss you Big Brother, and then some.
rest well, until we meet again.
your little brother, tom
