I met Rob when he was a 16 year old clarinet player in the Fairview High School Band. When I joined Fairview DeMolay, he was there in a leadership position which grew to that of decorated Past Master Councilor. He exemplified the virtues of loyalty and class. Over those years we became brothers well beyond the fraternal title. We even shared God’s grace when we survived a van accident. He visited me wherever I traveled in life, from Cincinnati to Boston to Annapolis and brought me hours of tape recordings of Yes and Genesis. I attended Rob and Linda’s wedding and Rob was an usher in the bridal party when I wed my wife Karen. The four of us shared many a New Year’s Eve together and we all traveled to Germany to visit our mutual friend Mitch and his family. In later years, work and family priorities reduced our visits to an annual lunch at Red Robin where we discussed his resurgent interest and published success in photography. Rob was devoted to all his endeavors and relationships. He was a devoted son, “brother,” friend, husband, employee, and club member. Of the many gifts he bought me over the years is a pewter hurricane lamp which is the crown jewel of my collection. As I light that lamp this year and beyond, I will remember Christ’s words “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 5:16, KJV). Well done my brother.
