My condolences and heartfelt wishes to the Swanson family. Al was one of my dad's Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity brothers in their Baldwin Wallace College days of the early to mid-1950s. In more recent times, my dad and I enjoyed playing golf with Al in the Berea United Methodist Church golf league. I would also see Al regularly at BW events. Al was friendly, kind, and gracious beyond the norm and always provided good moral support and good humor to me in all endeavors, but especially in my own work in BW's English Department. I hope good memories of Al will sustain his family and friends in the days ahead.
