My best friend since we were 12, Deb, was kind enough to share her parents with me as we grew up. I had my own parents but Deb's parents Dave and Barb were young and cool :) What seemed like every weekend I would go their cottage in Catawba and hang out with the family. We would roller skate, hang out at the beach, go boating but mostly look for boys. Some of my best and favorite memories of my teen years were spending time with their family. Deb's mom was a great mom and a great wife. I remember thinking I hope I can be a wife and mom like her. Their marriage was one I envied and modeled my own after in later years. After they moved to Florida we still kept in touch with cards and phone calls. Even after they moved back, life made it hard to get together. I loved Barb with all my heart (she even let me refer to her as Mom) and I made sure she knew it. People come and go in your life and some have an impact that you can't deny or replace. Barb was that person for me. Good bye Barb. Until we meet again. Love, Tina
