Today's memorial service was very moving, especially the words of John's daughter and son, and his classmates. John's example should inspire us all to bring joy, humor, and music to our lives and to those of our friends and family. -- Jim Breiner, Ignatius, class of 1969

We will always John as a loving guy with a great sense of humor and a great smile. We remember an example of his great humor when he called himself Johnny Nine Toes. He will be missed.

“So sorry to hear of John's passing. I worked with "Yencha" for many years at Dealer Tire and have great memories of our travels together! He was not only an expert in his field but a great communicator and teacher to others of his knowledge. My condolences to Katie and family, and hope you find comfort and solace knowing John's time here on earth was a life well-lived. Memory Eternal!” -Eric E.

Kathy and Family -
My deepest sympathies to you on the passing of John. My prayers are with you and for John. John and I were both members of the Class of '69 at St. Ignatius. Even though he and I were never in a homeroom together we did have some classes together and, of course, were at different school activities together. I knew that John was a faithful and committed member of CAM - the Christian Action Movement at Ignatius through which the students volunteered to help people in their times of need. That was John - a man who cared about others and met their needs ahead of his own. This is the value and example I'm sure he left for all of you and anyone who was a part of his life. I'm sure its a wonderful memory of John that we all will carry with us and try to live as he did.
Again, my condolences to all of you. May John be rewarded for his works of charity and rest in the eternal peace of Heaven.

I was fortunate to work with John for several years at Dealer Tire. He had a compelling perspective on life, family, and music that he willingly shared with me over multiple conversations. His infectious smile and sense of humor will be missed but always remembered.

I was so very sorry to hear of John's passing. My sincere condolences to Kathleen and family.

I had the wonderful honor and privilege of working with John at Dealer Tire. When he said "I will run through a brick wall for you," you knew he meant it literally as well as figuratively! He had immense passion for all parts of his life: work (he would have those new hires in love with tires by week 2 of training), his music, but above all his family. John had a heart of gold and an infectious laugh. John positively impacted a lot of lives. He will be deeply missed.

I am so sorry to hear this. I worked with John at Dealer Tire for a long time. He was one of the nicest guys I have ever met and I am very sad. He was a great musician, co-worker, and friend back in the day. I will miss JY very much.
