Maria Doina Draganoiu

April 19, 1949 - February 11, 2022

Maria Doina Draganoiu, 72, of North Olmsted, Ohio was called home by the Lord, on February 11, 2022. She was born in Romania on April 19, 1949 to the late Gheorghe and Constanta Ungureanu. Doina is survived by her loving daughter Alise Cua; her beloved grandchildren Bruno, Nina and Nico; sister-in-law Alexandra Schneider, in-laws Gabi and Angelica Draganoiu; niece Alexandra Bowler; grandnephew Aram Gabriel; and sister-in-law Flory Pod. Doina is now reunited with her devoted husband of over 50 years, Constantin. She will be fondly remembered as an amazing and very present grandmother, affectionately known as "maia'. Maia spent many months at a time in Georgia, visiting and helping her daughter Alise, son-in-law Joseph, and her 3 precious grandchildren Bruno, Nina & Nico. While the grandchildren were little, maia enjoyed be-bopping around town with them, and taking them wherever they wished to go: from dollar store shopping sprees, to the neighborhood park and pool, they spent many-a-long summer days and cozy cold evenings together . Her affection and selfless pouring into them, embodied the ideals of grand-parenting. Doina was a creative story teller. Through her original characters and fables, she taught the children many lessons, though they were none the wiser of the teaching concealed in those fun stories; nor that the characters represented the grandchildren, themselves. The family is grateful she is home with the Lord, yet she will be terribly missed until all are reunited in the Kingdom of Heaven. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 12-1:00 PM with a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, Ohio 44070.
