Mrs. Kennat, Russ and Kim, I'm shocked and saddened to hear that Mr. Kennat passed away. Your parents and my parents were good friends since their teen years and our entire lives. There is something to be said for that..
A few weeks back it was a beautiful sunny Sunday I was out and didn't want to just rush home so I decided to pop for a quick visit with Mr. and Mrs. Kennat. When I pulled in the driveway Mr. Kennat was sitting on the porch with his pipe, always had that pipe, only these days no tobacco in it (as a kid I remember thinking how good that pipe smelled with a hint of cherry and other aromas...so soothing and warm, almost like being indoor with a roaring fire and watching the snow fall on a cold blustery day.
I don't remember ever seeing your father upset about anything (although when I told him I purchased a front load washer after he sternly suggest that I not, he snapped, 'well don't aske me to repair it'.
I know in these moments of loss, words are useless.. I just want you to know that I'm really sorry to hear about your husband / father, he was a wonderful man. If there is anything I can do, please don’t hesitate to let me know. My condolences. May he rest in peace.
