Robert Joseph Gomola Sr.

Robert Joseph Gomola Sr., 91 years young, of Bay Village, Ohio passed away on May 15, 2022. He was born on January 5, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Mathias and Blanch (nee Dean) Gomola. Robert was a proud veteran of the United States Marines Corps. He retired from the City of Bay Village as the Building Commissioner. After retirement he put his artistic skills to work by creating beautiful stained-glass artwork pieces and paintings, and even tried his hand at magic. Whenever he put his artistic talent to use, he did with enthusiasm and love and even did a little gaming with his son Erik. Robert was very proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-granchildren; Patricia Gomola (deceased), Robert Jr. (Marsha) Wiliam, Sharon (Bob) Emmett, Annie Dingman, and Erik Gomola; dear grandfather to Abbey (Eric) Cuningham, Lyndsey (Nick) Shirak, Emma Dingman, Anthony Wodarczyk, and Sarah “Elly” Dingman; great-grandfather to Juliana, Kyra, Cecelia, Brandon, and Adalynn. Family and friends may call on Friday, June 3, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 AM, at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM at the Chapel. Inurnment with military honors will take place at West Park Cemetery, 3942 Ridge Road Cleveland, Ohio 44144.
