Edward Houry
I've known Bill for more than 50 years. From the NASA Lewis Research Center, to Associate Counsel for Ship Systems in the Naval Sea Systems Command, to a lead attorney with Department of Energy, to a Board of Contract Appeals Judge, to Chief Counsel at the Fermi National Laboratory in Chicago for the University Research Association (URA), to the General Counsel for URA in Washington..Bill graduated from Cleveland Marshall Law School, finishing in four years at night. Try doing that and holding down a challenging job at NASA. Bill had a very illustrious legal career. The ease with which he was able to move around professionally indicated how intelligent, competent, knowledgeable and respected Bill was in the legal community. He was a lawyer's lawyer to me and many others.Notwithstanding Bill's overwhelming devotion to his profession and his work, he was equally devoted to his wife and family. Even under dire circumstances he always mantained his sense of humor and quick wit. He was a close, thoughtful and reliable friend to me and many others. You search for the right words to portray decades of a close professional and personal relationship, but words are only words. I will miss him very, very much. Ed Houry
