David John Bryniak, age 75, of Apex, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 16, 2020 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. David was born on October 28, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio. He is the son of the late Samuel an Read Obituary
At Elmwood Elementary he taught us cool, meaningful and contemporary songs, for the 70s into the 80s. Kodachrome, Tiny Houses and Rainbow Connection come to mind. He also drove home the Cleveland Orchestra as the "Best" in the World. He was a cool teacher.
While I’m late to learn of this. I’d still like to say some of my favorite memories are going to his class and playing bass clarinet in his jazz band.
Of course his humor and kindness will never be forgotten.

Mr Bryniak was my music teacher when I was a student at Garfield Heights Middle School. He was such a positive influence on so many of us. He really was a champion for every student he taught. He will be greatly missed.
Mr. Bryniak was one of my music teachers at William Foster until 1982. He was hands down my favoriite teacher. He taught all of us how to play the recorder in 4th grade. He was also our band director when I was in 5th & 6th grade. I can remember playing “Arapaho Warrior” during band rehearsal while the other kids were outside at recess. He had a sense of humor when we sounded not our best and total jubilation when we sounded our best. We always played to a packed house and can still see him sitting among us playing the trumpet. I am still a musician today and a music teacher. I always remember his humor and patience when teaching my own students. Rest In Peace Mr. Bryniak.
Dave and often connected in the hall to talk. He was always in a great mood and laughing. He made me feel good- we always chatted for a while before we returned to our loving students! Susan Lawther
I have fond memories of Mr. Bryniak from Garfield Heights. He was great! Not just some boring music teacher, he really knew how to talk to us kids at the time to get us interested in music. This is sad to hear of his passing. Rest in Peace Mr. Bryniak
I loved being in Mr. Bryniak’s orchestra/band at GHMS. He taught me to play violin, and made being in the GHMS orchestra such a wonderful experience. It was so fun and he was always full of jokes and very upbeat! I am so grateful for the music education I received during those years and the memories I still have of being a part of the music program!
Mr. Bryniak was one of my favorite teachers, not just music teacher. His positivity, encouragement, never giving up on a single student are lessons not just in school but for life! Whenever I was struggling to play, he pushed me to the next level. If I needed someone to talk to, Mr. Byrniak dropped everything to listen. My passion for music and wanting to mentor kids was a direct result of his influence. You will be missed to so many! May you continue to conduct music in the heavens above!
Dave was the kindest man, musician, and teacher I had the opportunity of working with at Garfield Height Jr/Middle school. I laugh when I think that he was the only person I knew that was skinnier than me! We performed many a combined band and choir performances through the good year! Oh he could talk! He was a wonderful man and I will always remember him with respect and fondness.
Mr Bryniak embodied what I think all music teachers strive to achieve. He was a bright shining positive influence on his students. He was funny and helpful. He was warm and motivating. He was the kind of teacher you were late to your next class for because you wanted to talk to him after rehearsal (and there were a few people inline ahead of you to talk to him). The man was just great. He will be missed.
