My heartfelt condolences to Betty and the entire Lemmeyer Family. You all have been our extended family since 1989.
My family was invited to spend some winter time in Cleveland in 1993 and stayed with Betty and Dale. Beautiful home with a considerable amount of family memorabilia as they had lived in that house for (just about) ever.
During our visit, our two daughters (six months and three years) were playing in the basement with Cindy and Steven. At one point, we all hear a crash and some crying from the basement. Kate (3 years) had attempted to climb up a series of shelves with said memorabilia on it and broke a Toby Mug, like the one used in the movie Twelve O'Clock High.
Kate was crying and thought she was in big trouble. Dale came downstairs, and after a few menacing looks, he laughed a little and gave Kate a big hug. Then he spent about two hours gluing it back together. During the "RE" gluing process, Dale admitted that it wasn't the first time this was broken. I'm pretty sure he gave Dave one of those menacing looks!
That was a great trip, and we appreciated being welcomed into the Lemmeyer home.
Fair Winds and Following Seas Dale. You are missed.
Dad loved to golf and until recently made the annual trip to Myrtle Beach, SC. Here are a couple photos of one of his last trips down.
Dale was our neighbor for 16 years. We shared many good times with him, Betty and Cindy. He will be deeply missed by my husband Dan and I.
