Ada Arpas Lovagi's Obituary
Ada (nee Arpas) Lovagi, age 94 passed away on November 3, 2022. She was born on November 23, 1927 in Santiago, Chile to the late Francisco and Hortencia (nee Vidal) Arpas. Ada is preceded in death by her six siblings.
Beloved wife of 67 years to the late Tibor Lovagi. Loving mother of Margaret (Mark) Donnelly, Etel (Steve) Cseh, and Suzanne (Ken) Ott; dear grandmother of Christine (Matthew) Tompkins, Patrick Donnelly, Alison (Jeff) Hanwell, Ryan Donnelly, Alexandria (Emily) Nelson, Michael (Devon) Donnelly, Alexander Vidal, and Meghan Donnelly; and great-grandmother of Abbey Tompkins, Aubrey Tompkins, and Jayce Donnelly.
Ada was born and raised in Santiago, Chile, where she met Tibor and they married in 1953. She immigrated with her husband and daughters to Cleveland, Ohio in 1966. Ada worked hard to help support her family as a switchboard operator, and later as a textile worker.
Ada was affectionately called Abuelita by her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Always looking forward to spending time with her family, she loved working on puzzles and playing card games. Ada enjoyed sharing tea and cookies with anyone who came to visit. Utilizing the internet, Ada was able to stay in touch with her family in Chile and keep up to date with world current events. She enjoyed spending time tending to her garden, walking to the park, baking, cooking, knitting, sewing, and was an avid reader of books and newspapers.
Ada will be fondly remembered for her smile, gentle nature, and her kind, giving, and loving spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022, 10:00 AM at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070.
