Agnes V. Sinka's Obituary
Agnes V. Sinka, age 93 of Cleveland, passed away December 3, 2020. She was born on January 27, 1927 in Riga, Latvia to the late Edgars and Emma Veiskats; dear mother of Nanetta “Missy” (Joel Queen) Sinka, Inese (Steven) Verba, and Rita (George Dolan) Sinka; cherished grandmother of Nova Downing, Mandie (Patrick) Mone, Robert Downing and Sarah Verba; great grandmother of Nathan, Alexis, Joshua, Robbie, and Noah. Besides her parents, Agnes is preceded in death by her husband John who passed away in October of 2019 and a brother Edmunds Veiskats.
Agnes left Latvia in 1944 with her family and settled in Germany where she met her late husband and together they moved to America. Agnes enjoyed being in nature with the animals, birds, and amongst her flower gardens. She was an excellent seamstress and made clothing and many other pieces. In her earlier years, she was a nurse’s aide at Children Forever and was recognized as the ‘Volunteer of the Year’. Most importantly, Agnes loved spending time with her family.
In the days to come, Agnes will be dearly missed.
Services will be held privately for Agnes’s family. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park.
