Alan Laich's Obituary
Alan Laich, 53, of Cleveland, passed away November 3, 2014
Beloved son of the late Rev. Dr. E.W. Laich and Margarete (nee Detke) Laich; loving brother of Walter (Betty), Alvin (Nancy) and Lilly (Ron) Friedrich; dear uncle of Shay, Ali, Melenie, Lana, Mike, Lisa, Danielle, Marcus, Taylor, and Wesley and great-uncle of Christopher, Ryan, Reili, Raelin, Christian, Austin, Samantha, Clara, Maya, Owen, Hannah, Brodie, and Lila; great-great-uncle of Skylar.
Alan was respected and loved by all he met. A faithful and loving son, brother, cousin, uncle and friend, he possessed a brilliant mind in many ways. He kept our family history alive by remembering every date of each and every family event and could do complex financial calculations in his head that rivaled today’s iPad.
He always remembered to send birthday cards on time and his yearly Christmas card mailing were looked forward to by all our family and friends and would signal the start of the holiday season for many.
Alan looked forward to his yearly vacations to his brother’s homes in Austin, Texas and Washington, D.C., his weekly outings with his sister and reminded us all that family, faith and friends are still our most cherished possessions.
Visitation Thursday from 5-9PM in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, where funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 2PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cornucopia Vocational Training Center, 18228 Sloane Ave., Lakewood 44107
