Allen C. Frick's Obituary
Allen C. Frick, 89, of Westlake, formerly of Cleveland, passed away January 25, 2018.
He was born in Cleveland, the son of the late Leonard G. and Mildred Horvath Frick. Allen was the beloved husband of the late Betty Jane; loving father of Leonard (Diane) Frick and Ellen (Drew) Vaneck; cherished grandfather of Ryan (Michelle) and Adam Frick, Kristen Giometti and Kara Vaneck and great-grandfather of Austin and Kaitlyn Frick. He is also survived by his first wife and mother of his children, Wilma. At the age of 12 he began working at his family’s store, Meister’s Hardware on the corner of West 128th and Lorain in Cleveland, which began in the 1920’s by his grandfather. He left for a few years to serve in the US Army and the National Guard and continued employment there upon his return, becoming the Owner. He retired in 1988 and he and Betty spent many winters together in Melbourne, Florida. He will be remembered as a die-hard Ford enthusiast, from the Crestliner to Lincoln’s and the Mercury.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 12PM-2PM at the Sunset Chapel in Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, where funeral services will commence on Monday at 2PM. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland 44110. dostalbokas.com
