Andy was the vocational drafting teacher for Kent Theodore Roosevelt High School for 23 years as well as the Union representative, and the advisor for the hockey team. He was also proud to work for East Ohio Gas Company for 15 years and had even worked with Tim Misney.
Andy was a little bit of an eccentric man. He was a snowbird for over20 years and enjoyed his time spent at his Florida home in the winter. He enjoyed playing the harmonica and guitar, sometimes at the same time, and had his own little one-man band for the neighborhood to hear. He loved to polka and ballroom dance and loved to create new dance moves to teach his friends. He was quick to embarrass his family both at home and in public and made every moment he could one filled with laughs and smiles. While in Florida, he was the Sargeant of Arms, the captain of the shuffleboard team, and ran the shuffleboard leagues regularly. He was proud to be a handyman, working on his own cars and plumbing and concrete, roofing his house even in his 80s, and growing his tomato garden. Andy was also proud to have served his country during the Korean Conflict and was an Army Medic. In the days to come, everyone will miss the jokes, the Pasta on the Porch, walks, sharing all the memories of his life with his family, but most of all... the harmonica playing. He will be dearly missed by all.
To safeguard all our families and friends during these uncertain times, services for Andy will be held privately for his family at Dostal Bokas Funeral Services located 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, OH 44070. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park where he will receive full-service military honors and be laid to rest.
