ANGELIA ANN MASON
Upper Fruitland, Navajo Nation NM / Layton Utah
Age 53 of Upper Fruitland, Navajo Nation, New Mexico passed away February 01, 2024 in North Olmsted, Ohio. Angelia Mason was born October 31, 1970 at home in Nenahnezad, Navajo Nation NM. Her Clan: (maternal) Taa’nes zahnii, (paternal) Tse Na a bilnii. Angelia was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was on an Indian Placement Program through the LDS church and lived with Kenneth and Gorgene Hadley family in Plain City Utah, and later with Keith and LaRae Bunnell in Layton Utah. She graduated from Weber High School and joined the military (Army), completed her training in Ft. Jackson South Carolina. She married Ruban Cano and made her home in Layton Utah. Angelia was promoted Sergeant in UNIT 872nd Maintenance Company and deployed to serve in the Operation Iraqi Freedom in Mosul, Iraq. Angelia also graduated from the Corrections Academy Session #215 in Farmington Utah, was corrections officer at the Davis County Utah Corrections facility. She later moved to Ohio where she continued her military reservist duties. She dedicated 28 years to the military service.
Angelia is survived by her three (3) children: sons Shane E. Cano, Jordan T. (Leticia) Cano and Cherrisse (Kory) Anderson. Four (4) grandchildren: Aaliyah, Kylah, Everett and Adrian.
Brothers: Fabian Bowman (Kaylyn), Farrell Bowman, Sisters: LaVerta Mason, Geraldine Mason.
She was preceded in death by her parents Annie Bowman, Freddie Bowman, Sister Alfreda Bowman, Brothers: Fredrick Bowman, Brandon Moffitt, Gerald Mason.
