Anita R. Solarz's Obituary
Anita Solarz (nee Havlatko), 79, of Fairview Park, OH, passed away December 27, 2022, following a lengthy illness. Anita was proud to have spent her career with NASA Glenn Research Center, working initially in the library and completing her time there in the Educational Services department. In her retirement, she was a consulting Rosarian with the American Rose Society, working to nurture the meticulous yard and garden she maintained with her beloved husband. She was fond of volunteering at local animal shelters and spending time with her granddaughter, Kelsey. Anita was loved by many and will be fondly remembered for her Kentucky Derby parties and her lavish Thanksgiving dinners.
Anita was preceded in death by her husband William in 2021; She is survived by two sisters, Sylvia Oswald, of North Olmsted, and Judy Walter, of Strongsville; a son, Matthew, of Miles City, MT; granddaughter Kelsey Lawrence, of Aurora, CO and grandson Will Solarz, of Lakewood, OH.
Friends may call Wednesday, January 4th, at the Sunset Chapel at 6245 Columbia Road in North Olmsted from 5-8 PM. A brief prayer service and rosary will be said at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, January 5 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Berea with the Rev. Thom Kowatch officiating and Rev. Mr. Matthew Solarz assisting. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana Greatest Needs Endowment, PO Box 1345, Great Falls, MT 59403.
