Ann Valerie Baum's Obituary
Ann Valerie Baum (nee Bartkiewicz), age 67, of Brunswick Hills, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on February 20, 2025. She was born on March 3, 1957, to the late Edward and Helen Bartkiewicz.
In December 1974, Ann married the love of her life, Bill and became a devoted homemaker as they raised their three daughters while the Army took them to various parts of the US including Hawaii and Missouri until finally settling in the Cleveland area. They were married a remarkable 47 years together until his passing in 2021. Ann is survived by her three daughters, Jennifer (David) Cogan, Allison (Charlie) Woodward and Aimee (Jeffrey) Anzalone. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Haley, Benjamin, Braden, Chaz, Hannah, Whitney and Gabriella.
Ann was a cherished sister to Marjorie (the late Michael) Juba, Jeanne (Mark) Minnello, Michael (Kathy) Bartkiewicz, Rose (Ray) Chuhay and Lynn (Mitch) McCoy. She was also a loving aunt and great-aunt to many, a dear cousin, a kind friend and neighbor. Her faithful dog Mabel will miss her dearly.
Ann was an artist at heart, known for her creativity and unbelievable craftiness. Anything she worked on was completed with impeccable detail. She was an excellent seamstress and was often asked to tailor wedding and special occasion dresses or outfits for family and friends. This included the clothing she made for her girls when they were young, often dressing them in matching outfits for holidays. Ann was affectionately known as the “cake lady” for her infamous, beautifully decorated cakes, cupcakes and cookies. She brought joy to people through her love and talent of cake decorating for almost 50 years! She enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida to visit with her daughter and family there. Ann loved her grandchildren very much and attended every event she possibly could of theirs, including sports events, musical concerts, even special school assemblies. Proud of her family would be an understatement. Generous and compassionate, she was a fighter too, having beat breast cancer in 2011. Her warm and tender spirit will leave a lasting impact on anyone who was privileged to know her. She will be deeply missed by all.
