Ann Schiau's Obituary
Ann C. Schiau (nee Miclau) , age 92, entered into eternal rest on
Wednesday, June 2, 2021 with her loving family surrounding her.
Beloved wife of the late Nick, Jr. Loving mother of Michelle, Nick III (Nancy deceased) and Daniel (Libby). Devoted grandmother of Christopher, Daniel and J.R. Dearest sister of Daniel C. Miclau and the late Theodore Miclau Jr. Dear aunt, great-aunt and friend of many. Ann attended the University of Montreal and Cleveland College. She was a working businesswoman from an early age who owned and operated several downtown Cleveland restaurants: Monaco's, the Black Angus on Playhouse Square and the Steak Joynt. She was a longtime active member of the Women's City Club of Cleveland and the Nationalities Services Center. Ann spoke several languages and was proud of her services as an interpreter for the U.S. State Department taking American artists to tour Romania in the early 1960's. All funeral services will be held Monday, June 7, 2021 at 11 am at the St. Mary Romanian Orthodox Cathedral (3256 Warren Road, Cleveland, OH. 44111), where the family will receive friends at 10 am until time of service. Rev. Father Remus Grama, officiating.
In lieu of flowers family suggests memorial contributions be made to
St. Mary Romanian Orthodox Cathedral. Interment at SUNSET MEMORIAL PARK, North Olmsted on Monday, June 7th at 12:30 pm.
