Anne M. Sternweiler's Obituary
ANNE (‘MAXI’) STERNWEILER, 91, passed Sept 01, 2016, at her home in Fairview Park, Ohio.
Anne Weber born March 30, 1925 one of 5 siblings (Max, Hans, Maria & Adi) in Furstenzell, Germany (Bavaria) and was raised in nearby Jägerwirt. She continued her schooling at the Kloster Niedernburg monastery in nearby Passau. During WWII, Anne served as a volunteer at local hospitals from 1942 until 1945. Anne continued working in Passau at Zimmermann, a confectionary wholesaler. She met her beloved late husband, Henry Sternweiler, a U.S. Army officer in Passau in 1954, married in May 1955, and moved to U.S. In 1956 they moved from Maryland to Cleveland and raised four children: Shirley (d), Walter, Allen, and Roy.
Anne (Maxi) was a kind and generous woman. She had many interests and enjoyed traveling, biking, classical music, opera, ballet, history and discovering new things.
She loved to entertain. She was well known for her delicious cooking and baking skills. Her wide variety of Christmas cookies were always anticipated and deeply appreciated by all. Anne always had a smile on her face while conversing and laughing with family and friends, old and new.
Anne is survived by her sons three sons; daughter in-law Ellen & 3 grandchildren, brothers Max and Adi Weber; and extended Weber and Sternweiler families.
Funeral Service will take place at 6:00 PM, on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd, North Olmsted, where family will receive friends for two hours prior, from 4-6 PM.
