Antoinette Dargis' Obituary
Antoinette Dargis (nee Petix) was born on January 1, 1931, to parents, James Petix and Mary (nee Marino) in Detroit Michigan. She was the first of her family born in the United States, followed by her younger brother Sam. Her parents and older sister Rose were born in Sicily, Italy.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, sister Rose, brother Sam, daughter Carolyn Higgins (Al), son Gregory and her husband of 66 years, Raymond Dargis, she is survived by her son James (Mark) Shelton (Maureen), seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
She lived in and went to school in Detroit but got her high school diploma from the Flint Michigan school system. Antoinette worked most of her life to raise her three children, James (Mark), Carolyn and Greg from her first marriage.
Among her many working ventures she worked a factory line job at Brass Craft (where she met Raymond) at Paramount Potato Chip Factory, she was a sales representative for the Longaberger Basket Company, she sold real estate and was the secretary to the legal department at the Tri County Community College in Cuyahoga County, Ohio from where she retired.
While living in Bay Village, Ohio for over 40 years she was an active member of the Bay Village Women’s Club, where she served as president for one year. She taught CCD at St. Ladislas Catholic Church.
She enjoyed spending time with friends, sewing and cooking.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070.
