Areli Muñoz's Obituary
Areli Muñoz, age 79, of Olmsted Township, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on October 12, 1945, in Chiquimula, Guatemala. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Areli lived his life with quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering dedication to those he cherished most.
He was known for always being well put together—whether attending family gatherings or simply enjoying the day, his thoughtful presentation reflected the pride he took in himself and the life he built. A lover of classical music, Areli often found comfort and joy in its timeless melodies, which spoke to his contemplative and refined spirit.
His greatest pride came from his family and his career, both of which he approached with diligence and heart. He was a man of commitment and integrity, whose efforts left a lasting imprint on the lives of those around him.
Areli is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Gloria Esperanza Orellana de Muñoz, with whom he shared a lifetime of partnership and love. Together, they raised a beautiful family, and his legacy lives on through his children: Nancy (Rob) Prante, Edwardo Muñoz, and Luis (Kelly) Muñoz. He was a proud grandfather to Caleb Prante, Hannah Prante, John Muñoz, Sam Muñoz, Isabella Muñoz, Aliyah Muñoz, and Mac Muñoz, who each carry forward his values and warmth.
He is also survived by his dear brothers, Heri Isaias Muñoz Vargas and Luis Arodi Muñoz Vargas, whose bond with him was lifelong and unbreakable.
His family remembers him as a man of quiet wisdom, gentle humor, and enduring grace—someone who always put others before himself and found joy in the simplest moments.
