Ava Juliana Thomas' Obituary
Ava Juliana Thomas, age 15, of Medina, Ohio, went to her eternal Home on June 13th, 2023. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 26th, 2007 to her parents, Brett Thomas and Jennifer Thomas-Butterworth. Ava was a student at Buckeye High School where she enjoyed being a part of the Color Guard and American Sign Language Club. She was just accepted into the ASL Honorś Society. She was working towards attending the Medina Career Centerś Animal Management and Care program.
Ava had a deep love for animals of all kinds, especially horses. She knew from a young age she wanted to work with pets and help them. Ava was involved in horse-back riding, working towards her jumping skills. Her creativity shined through her paintings and drawings. Catching one of the biggest basses in her backyard pond was a goal. She accomplished that a few days before she passed. Ava was always a shy girl until you got to know her and her personality shined. She had amazing friends who she loved dearly and always had her back.
We will remember her for her beautiful eyes and long eye-lashes, the way she persevered through any challenge she encountered since birth, and the way she cared about others.
Ava leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory, including her parents, Jennifer (Justin) Thomas-Butterworth and Brett (Tina Britnell) Thomas; bonus siblings, Victoria and Jared Butterworth; grandparents, Diana Rink, William Gannaway, and Tina and Gary Stevenson; aunts and uncles, Bryan and Jamie Thomas, and Chris and Lisa Stevenson; cousins, Jaden and Tyler Thomas and D.C. and Adam Stevenson; and great-grandparents, great-aunts and great-uncles, God-parents, and additional extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Edward Thomas.
Friends and family may gather on Saturday, June 17th, 2023 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 3:00pm, with Pastor Deborah Michaels officiating.
