Barbara Anne Athey's Obituary
Barbara Anne Athey, age 84, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025. Born on May 29, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Harriette Glaeser, whose guidance and values shaped the compassionate woman she became.
Barbara’s life was defined by devotion to her family. She is survived by her son Jonathan Athey, who brought her immense pride and joy. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Matthew Athey, whose memory she carried close to her heart.
She was a cherished grandmother to Natasha Williams and her husband Scott, and to Jonathan Athey Jr., Angelina Oliver each of whom brought light and laughter into her later years. Barbara is also survived by her sisters, Mary Reed and Frances Glaeser, and was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Glaeser.
Barbara will be remembered for her kindness, her steady strength, and the deep love she offered so freely. Her presence enriched the lives of all who knew her, and her legacy will continue through the family she treasured.
Memorial Visitation will be held at North Olmsted Evangelical Friends Church, 5665 Great Northern Blvd, North Olmsted, OH 44070 on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. with meal to follow.
