Barbara Ruth August's Obituary
Barbara Ruth August, age 85, passed away on July 6, 2026. She was born on April 25, 1941, to the late William and Georgia Hamilton.
Barbara was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy in life was her family. She shared many years of marriage with her beloved husband, Ray August, who preceded her in death. Together they built a family filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. She leaves behind her children, Wavia (David) Jones, Michael August, and Vickie August, who will forever cherish her guidance, love, and unwavering support. Barbara was a proud grandmother to Jennifer (Douglas) Majkrzak, Emily August, Michael August, Rebecca August, Matthew Dietrich, and Madalyn Dietrich, and great-grandmother to Mason Majkrzak and Grace Majkrzak, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. Barbara is preceded in death by her brothers, David Hamilton and William Hamilton, Jr., and is survived by her brother, Terry Hamilton, along with many extended family members of nieces and nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.
Barbara will be remembered for her kind heart, her devotion to her family, and the countless ways she touched the lives of those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Visitation is Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070. Funeral service is Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
