Barbara Rae Cahill's Obituary
Barbara Rae Cahill (née Stuehr), aged 86, passed away on August 11, 2024, in North Ridgeville, Ohio. Born on July 7, 1938, Barbara graduated from John Marshall High School and furthered her education at Baldwin Wallace College.
Barbara dedicated many years of her professional life to EC Kitzel & Sons, bringing both passion and dedication to her role. She was a devout member of Shepherd of the Ridge Lutheran Church, where she also joyously sang in the choir.
Known for her vibrant and nurturing personality, Barbara was a beloved mother, grandmother (grandmama), and friend. She had a profound love for her family, often playing the role of the family historian and sharing her genealogical discoveries. Barbara’s interests were diverse, ranging from archeology to golf, and she was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She also loved throwing a line in the water in hopes of catching a fish or two. Her sense of humor shone brightly, especially during Christmas, when she amused her family with mysteriously numbered gifts.
Barbara was an exceptional baker, known especially for her peanut butter cookies and Russian tea cakes. Her hobbies also included working out, driving stick shift cars, and she was always ready for a round of golf or a spirited choir practice.
She leaves behind her children, Gregory R. Konschak (Chris), Rae Lynn Marce (Vince), and Gary R. Konschak (Laura); her cherished grandchildren, Sara, Steven, Hannah, Reiley (Caleb), Garrison, and Olivia; and her sister, Lauren Erchenbrecher (Vern) and her cat Maddie. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ferne Stuehr, and her granddaughter, Emily Marie Konschak.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be a private ceremony with immediate family at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shepherd of the Ridge Lutheran Church, Berea Animal Rescue, or the Friendship Animal Protective League, honoring Barbara’s love for her community and animals.
