Barbara Ann Kessinger's Obituary
Barbara Ann Kessinger (nee Burtnett), 65, entered into eternal rest at the Cleveland Clinic Hospice Care Center, Fairlawn, OH on December 1, 2019. Barbara fought ovarian cancer for more than eight years, buoyed by her faith every step of the way. She was born and raised in North Olmsted, OH, and graduated from Magnificat High School. She and her husband Greg owned Safe Harbor Security. After retiring from Safe Harbor, Barbara started ZDG, Inc., a consulting firm that provided technical training on Fire Alarm Systems to Engineers, Military Bases, state and local governments, and alarm companies. Barbara was an active and devoted member of the St. Mary of the Falls Parish. She co-founded several church events focused on family involvement including Family Movie Night, Donut Sundays, Faith Family and Fun, Five Love Languages, and Table for Two. In addition, Barbara led several bible and book studies; helped with Oremus Prayer Ministry and Lector Ministry; and helped set up the Nativity.
She is survived by her husband, Greg, having recently celebrated their silver anniversary; her children Heather Jupina (Matt) of Strongsville, OH, Bill Schilling (Tracy) of Sacramento, CA, Alison McGannon (Brian) of Chicago, IL, and Amy Caskie (Jared) of Columbus, OH; step-children Brad Kessinger (Keli) of Palm Harbor, FL, and Bethany Springer (Zac) of Vermilion, OH; grandchildren Madison and Jakob Jupina, Declan and June Schilling, Jane, Mae, and TC McGannon, Lucy and Bennett Caskie, and Cesia and Sabina Springer; siblings Judy (Jim) Mayiras of Medina, OH; Kathy (Tom) Krupitzer of Berea, OH; Bob (Rhonda) Burtnett of Cantonment, FL; Carol Burtnett of Concord Twp, OH; Donald Burtnett of Horton, MI; Joan Laschinger (Gerry Thomas) of North Olmsted, OH; Mary (Doug) Mapes of Seven Hills, OH; Sue (Vince) DiDonna of Westlake, OH; and Eileen Moran of Avon, OH. Barb was an aunt to 32 nieces and nephews, and a great aunt to many.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Falls Church, Olmsted Falls, OH at 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 7, 2019. Family will receive friends one hour before the Mass at the church. Barbara will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, North Olmsted, Ohio at a private service. All arrangements handled by Dostal Bokas Funeral Services of North Olmsted Ohio.
