Betty Babics' Obituary
Betty Babics, age 86, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and cousin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald along with her parents Velma and Fred Bender. She is survived by her daughters Patricia (Mark) Kubancik and Susan (Louis) Gigliotti Jr. ; grandchildren Matthew Kubancik, Louis Gigliotti III, Nicholas Gigliotti and Gina Gigliotti as well as her great-grandchildren and many cousins.
Betty was very involved in the Strongsville community. She and her husband Donald owned and operated Fabric Mart Inc. in both Strongsville and Westlake. Betty was a 50+ year member of the Strongsville UCC. In addition, she was a member of the Strongsville PTA, Strongsville School Board, Women’s League and a Girl Scout leader for many years. Betty was also active in Strongsville Schools Foundation. She introduced Safety Town for both Strongsville and Westlake school districts. Betty attended Ohio State University and Baldwin Wallace College where she graduated in 1979.
Visitation is on Wednesday, May 22nd from 4-8 PM at Jardine Funeral Home, Strongsville. Funeral service Thursday, May 23rd at 10:00 AM at Strongsville United Church of Christ (where she was a 50+ year member), 13740 Pearl Rd., Strongsville. Interment at SUNSET MEMORIAL PARK, North Olmsted on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 11:30 AM.
