Betty Jean Levis' Obituary
Betty Jean Levis, 95, of Westlake, Ohio, passed away on August 15, 2024. Born on May 19, 1929, she was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Betty graduated from Rutland High School, where she was an enthusiastic cheerleader. On June 19, 1947, she married the love of her life, John Levis, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving children, Connie (Chuck) Palumbo, Sharon (Charles) Root, John (Margorie) Levis, and Kimberly (Steven) Kabay. She was a proud grandmother to Brian, Megan, Sam, Adam, Erica, Alyssa, Shaun, Joel, Cory, Ryan, Emily, Madison, Jake, and Tyler. Her legacy continues through her 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Lulu Miller. She was a dedicated member of the Westlake Methodist Church, where she was actively involved in making prayer shawls and held many offices in the United Women’s Group, including president. Betty also served as a Girl Scout leader, nurturing and guiding young girls.
For 25 years, Betty worked as a saleswoman for May Company, specializing in cosmetics. In her leisure time, she enjoyed golfing and bowling, activities that brought her much joy.
Betty’s warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Betty’s family will have private services, and she will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. A memorial celebration of life will be held at a later date.
