Betty Rose Lewis' Obituary
Betty Rose Lewis, 96, formerly of Westlake, peacefully passed away in Highlands Ranch, CO, where she has been residing for the past 23 years.
She was born in Cleveland, the daughter of the late William and Kathryn (nee Fulton) Blackwood. Betty was the beloved wife of the late Harry “Bud” Lewis. A loving mother to Gary, Sharon, Kristine and Craig. Cherished grandmother and great-grandmother of many and great-great-grandmother of one. Dear sister-in-law of Eloise Lewis. She was a stenographer in Cleveland for four years before enlisting in the US Coast Guard in 1944. She completed Yeoman School in Palm Beach and served her two years, being honorably discharged in 1946. She retired from Pick-N-Pay in 1979 and she and Bud moved to Tuscon, AZ. Following his passing she then moved to Federal Heights, CO and later to Highlands Ranch, CO to be closer to her family. Betty was smart, sarcastic and witty, always able to fool those who did not know her. Her sassiness was displayed every time she danced her way to the dining table. She was devoted to her husband and family and they will remember her for not only her amazing organizational skills, but as a funny, kind, caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.
Services for Betty are private. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park, 6265 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted.
