Bonita "Bonnie" Mae Schmidt's Obituary
Bonita "Bonnie" Mae Schmidt (nee Rudolph) of Olmsted Falls, Ohio, formerly of Cleveland, and born in Euclid on January 20, 1943, passed away on May 27, 2022. Grew up in Cleveland's Grovewood neighborhood, near the Slovenian community on St. Clair Avenue and Euclid Beach. Beloved wife of Albert Frank Schmidt, Jr. for more than 56 years. Mother of Mary Margaret (Shelby), Albert Joseph (Lora), John Paul (Pat), and Anna Marie Schmidt. Sister of Cynthia “Cindy” Marie (Kevin) O'Brien and Deborah “Debbie” Lynn (the late Gene) Rhodes. Grandmother to Kristen, Cassandra, Casey, Ashley, Taylor, Katherine, and Zachary Schmidt. Aunt to Doug (Laura) Sheridan, Joseph (the late Jennifer), Robert (Susan), Timothy, and Kevin (Jill) Rudolph, as well as Chip (Megan) Rhodes, Kelci (Angelo) Rhodes, and Jacqueline (Shon) Jergens. Bonnie was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mary (nee Glivar) of Ljubljana, Slovenia and Louis Hrovat, her parents, Joseph and Mary Francis (nee Hrovat) Rudolph, her maternal aunt, Elsie (Robert) Himes (nee Hrovat), and her brother, Joseph Louis (Judy) Rudolph. Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 10:00am-11:30am at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. Services immediately following at the on-site Chapel. Bonnie will rest in peace at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted.
