I am in Florida now, or I would be at the memorial service. I hired Bruce to work for Acosta about 12 yrs ago. We quickly became great friends. He came to my family functions, and became part of my family. We talked 2-3 times a week, right up to his passing. Bruce had the biggest heart, always wanting to make sure the school kids had books to read. I edited his book for him, we talked about his illnesses, and the doctors and hospitals daily. He isn't in pain, the struggle is over. Fly high my dear friend, you deserve peace. You were a good man Bruce, we were all blessed to call you our friend
Grew up 2 houses down from the Barker family on Byron Drive. It was a Great Neighborhood. The one memory I have of Bruce and I picture it in my mind. Young Bruce walking through the neighbors with his dog, a boxer named Ginger. They were always side by side. I imagine she greeted him in Heaven

I have known Bruce for the past 7 or 8 years and he had been an awesome friend to me. I know he was having health issues. To say I am going to miss him and his friendship does not begin to cover how I’m feeling knowing he lost his struggle with his health. I hope Jazz is with someone who will care for her. My deepest condolences to his family.
