Everette Bruce Cheney, age 60, of Elyria, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018.
Born June 23, 1957 in Wheeling, WV, son of the late William and Grace Kopp.
Cherished father of Emily and Elizabeth Cheney; loving step father of Jennifer (Derek) Vandal and Jason Bender; beloved grandfather of Owen Cheney, Angelo, MaKyle and Avielle Grondin, Jaxson, Devan, Logan, and Connor Vandal; loving brother of Margaret, James, William, Florence, Thomas, Judy, George, Virginia, Mary and Carol; dear uncle, cousin, and friend of many.
Bruce was the nicest man you could ever meet. He was always offering favors and being helpful to all those he met. He always took joy in making sure others had what they needed, even if it was at his own expense. He liked fishing and being outdoors. He enjoyed the Phantom of the Opera and Les Misérables. He was a great cook and enjoyed helping other people cook, as well. He was also very good with computers and liked working with them and he was a locksmith. Above all, Bruce’s all-time favorite thing to do was spend time with his family. He took great joy in spending time with his grandchildren, whether it was at the zoo, watching movies or playing the claw machine and winning more often than the average person. Bruce will be dearly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know him.
Visitation will take place Monday, June 4, 2018 from 5PM – 9PM in the Westwood Abbey Mausoleum Chapel, 6265 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, OH 44070 and Tuesday from 10AM until the time of funeral service at 12 NOON.
