Buford Amos Wyrick's Obituary
Buford Amos Wyrick, age 91, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025. Born on September 11, 1933 in Papinville, MO to the late Amos and Ethel Marie Wyrick.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Juanita Wyrick, in 2017 and his siblings, Carl (Doris) Wyrick, Bob Wyrick and Emma Lou Case along with her first husband, Gordon Hale and second husband, Bob Case.
Buford is survived by his loving children, Gary (Terri) Wyrick and Sandy (Jerry) Golinski; his cherished grandchildren, Lindsey (Paul) Bybee, Nicole (Russ) Sholtis-Hall, Alicia (Chris) Harvey and Brett (Angelica) Wyrick; and his treasured great-grandchildren, Easton Harvey, Ensley Harvey, Jayce Wyrick and Wylie Bybee. His legacy will continue through them.
He attended High School in Columbus, KS where he met the love of his life and future wife. After high school, he was drafted into the army and before leaving he proposed to Juanita. He was sent to Japan at the end of the Korean war. Upon his honorable discharge, he and Juanita were married in October of 1955 and set out to start their new life and family.
Buford had a career in computer systems and management. He started working for Sinclair Oil and the family adventures started. They moved from Kansas City, to New York, then Chicago, followed by Atlanta and finally arrived in Cleveland. He and Juanita became involved in the Olmsted Christian Church where he served as a deacon and later Chairman of the Board. After the church closed, he joined North Olmsted Methodist church.
Their life involved, sunrise breakfasts in the Metro Parks, hikes, boating, water skiing, traveling and enjoying friends and family. Buford retired from BP Oil at 52. He took up part time work with H&R Block and then with E-Check. Buford had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes. He had quite the mathematical mind and was in-depth at solving problems.
Memorial Service will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 2:00 pm with burial at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted, Ohio (Fountain of Memories 1A, Niche 307). Fellowship to follow at Sunset Memorial Chapel.
