Candy Lee Green's Obituary
Candy Lee Green, née McCormick resident of Elyria, OH advanced to Heaven October 7, 2020.
Candy’s sweet and sassy spirit was born into this world January 9, 1951. She graduated from Midview Highschool in 1969 and worked in various careers over the years, most recently retiring from Wal-Mart. She enjoyed cheering on the Cleveland sports teams, shooting pool, golf, cooking, collecting all things ladybug and most of all spending time with family and friends.
Candy will be remembered for her beautiful baby blues, red locks, tremendous sense of humor and style, infectious laugh, brilliant smile, resiliency and kind heart. She was the pillar of her vast family. She never forgot a birthday, holiday or anniversary. Her sing-song voice messages, Christmas morning phone calls, “tickle fingers”, thoughtful gifts, giant hugs and lipstick kisses will be missed by all that had the honor of knowing and loving her.
Candy is survived by her beloved son and daughter in-law Clark & Theresa Hollman and cherished granddaughter Sarah Hollman; siblings Sharon Bunting (John), Bill Flanigan (Nance), Mike Flanigan (Laurie), Debbie Butler (Eric), Patty Beatty,,David Krueck (Cheryl), Carrie Field (Ken) and Traci Palocko (Doug); many nieces and nephews that she called her “kids”; as well as countless friends that she considered family.
Candy was proceeded in death by her mother Doris Flanigan (née Kapferer), her father Thomas “Dennis” McCormick and brother Jeff Elster.
A celebration of Candy’s life and legacy will be shared at a future time when the family may safely gather with friends.
The worldly loss of Candy is immeasurable but so is the love she left behind.
