Carlton E Acord's Obituary
Carlton E. Acord of Brook Park, Ohio passed away peaceably on October 28, 2023. Carlton was born in Arnett, West Virginia to Omer and Ruby Acord on October 11, 1935. He leaves behind the love of his life Loretta, to which he was married for 66 years. He was a caring and supportive father to Larry (Ljudmila) Acord and Terry (Susan) Acord. He was a loving Grandfather to Terry Acord Jr, Andrew (Megan) Acord, Christina Habart, Jordan Acord and Joshua Acord. He was a doting Great-Grandfather to Emma, Wyatt, Lily and Nora.
Shortly after moving to Ohio in 1960, Carlton began a career at J&L Steel where remained until he retired in 2000. He also proudly served as Treasurer of the USA Local 188 Credit Union. He was a member of the Cleveland Baptist Church since the early 70’s.
Spending time with his family always brought him joy. Carlton and Loretta enjoyed travelling and had the opportunity to visit many fascinating destinations.
A good husband, a good father and a good man who will be missed.
Family and friends may gather at the Sunset Memorial Chapel, at 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070, from 4-8 pm on Friday November 3. A funeral service will also be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel 12 pm on Saturday November 4th. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
