Carol Ann Bodle's Obituary
Carol Ann Bodle, age 90, passed away on January 13, 2025. She was born on April 16, 1934, in Parma, Ohio, to the late Fred and Edith Roller.
Fred moved his family to a farm in Richfield, which Carol loved and always considered home. The farm defined Carol and remained the center of her life. As a young adult, Carol held positions with the Coastguard and the Veteran’s Administration, loving her jobs, and enjoying the people she worked with.
In 1960, Carol married her beloved husband, Frank Bodle, who predeceased her in 2010. Together, they raised three children: Jonathan (Barbara) Bodle, Christian (Georgiann) Bodle, and Beth (Sean) Smith. Carol was a proud grandmother to Michael Modica, Ashley (Chris) Reyes, Kirsten Bodle, Nicholas Bodle, Alexander Bodle, Colin (Emily) Smith, Corey Smith, Brennan Smith, and a loving great-grandmother to Clara Smith and Evelyn Smith. Carol's family was the center of her world. She loved her family immensely and took great pride and joy in her grandchildren and great-granddaughters.
Carol’s faith and her church were the cornerstone of her life. She was a dedicated member of The United Methodist Church of Berea for many years. Carol and Frank frequently volunteered for church activities. They were also active members of the church's Homebuilders Ministry and served as both President and Treasurer.
Carol had a passion for baking, especially her annual Christmas cookies, and enjoyed hosting family parties where outdoor activities were a tradition. She loved gardening both vegetables and flowers and took great pride in creating beautiful landscaping at her homes. Carol and Frank were avid crafters and enjoyed sewing and woodworking projects, making many treasured items for friends and family.
Carol was preceded in death by her siblings, David (Louise) Roller, Noreen (Bernie) Moyer, and Warren (Darlyne, who survives) Roller, as well as her sister-in-law, Pearl Bodle.
Carol Ann Bodle will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
