Catherine Sayers' Obituary
Catherine Ann (Buehler) Sayers, 98 years young of Fairview Park, Ohio passed away on August 17, 2022. She was born on July 6, 1924 to the late Lawrence and Mavis (Hill) Buehler. Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughter Kimberly Ann (Mark Francis Reis); niece Laurie (Jeff) Wellington; nephew George (Debbie) Buehler; 2 great nieces, 1 great nephew; 4 great-great nieces; 1 great-great nephew; and canine companion Honey Boo. She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Wilford, brother and sister-in-law William C. and Ivadale Buehler; nephews Jared and Michael Buehler; and canine companion Praline.
She was born in Salem, Ohio and attended Kent State University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in business. During WWII, Catherine worked at the Ravenna Arsenal where she met and married the love of her life, Wilford on August 31, 1946. Throughout her life, she worked at Fairview Hospital School of Nursing, the Children’s Aide Society, and the Oakridge Home. She was a wonderful and attentive mother who was always there when needed. She had many friends and was a well-loved member of the community. Despite her hectic schedule, her family was her passion. She loved vacationing in Florida and walking on the pier in Naples with her family and dog. Catherine will be fondly remembered for her strong will, and her eye for fashion and brand name labels. After all, every woman needs to have a Pendleton suit in her closet. Catherine’s life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 - “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” She will be missed.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 11-1 PM with a 1 PM service at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Online condolences and memories may be left on Catherine’s memorial page at sunsetfuneralandcemetery.com
