Charles M. Hoffner's Obituary
Charles M. Hoffner passed away peacefully on June 9th, 2023. He was born to the late Robert and Dorothy Hoffner (nee’ Denison) on November 24th, 1936. Growing up in Lakewood, Charles attended Lakewood City Schools where he met Suzanne (nee’ Kirk). Chuck, as he was affectionately called, graduated from LHS in 1954. After high school, Charles attended Kent State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication, with a minor in R.T.V.F. in 1959. Charles and Suzanne were married in holy matrimony in Lakewood, OH and they shared 60+ wedded years together. Charles leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife Suzanne; his children: Catherine Dewyre and Robert Hoffner; grandchildren: Scott Dewyre, Collin Dewyre (and their father Brian Dewyre), Emily Hoffner, Rachel Hoffner (and their mother Jodi Hoffner) and loving extended family in Colorado. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, June 17th, 2023 from 12-2PM at Sunset Memorial Park, 6265 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, OH 44070 at the Westwood Abbey Mausoleum (upper level). Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at www.JDRF.org, or donations can be made to Independence Village of Avon Lake Life Enrichment Program at https://www.storypoint.com/community/avon-lake-oh/ in memory of Chuck. Lovingly cared for by his Independence Village family, Gentiva Hospice, and Home Instead Senior Services.
