Daniel M. Mason's Obituary
Daniel Martin Mason, age 84 of Rocky River, passed away on December 23, 2020. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Bade); loving father of Martin (Susan Ottogalli), Timothy of Portland, OR, Jean (Marco) Rizi; the cherished grandfather of Noah, Owen and Luke Mason, Madia, Isabella and Luca Rizi.
Born in Red Bay, AL. Dan attended Cleveland Public Schools, graduation from West High School where he met his wife and best friend of 61 years, Margaret “Muggsy”. Dan was most proud of his alma mater, Purdue University. He taught Health and Physical Education at South High where he coached basketball while heading up the Clevland playgrounds, refereeing basketball and football and working the scoreboard for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He has received numerous honors and awards in his chosen field. He was loyal and dedicated to his family and many friends-especially enjoying breakfast with the guys. Our world will not be the same without him. We wish you to remember Dan in your own special way with a smile on your face. “See you ‘round like a donut.”
Private family services were held with interment at Sunset Memorial Park.
