Peters of Monroe, MI, 84 passed away peacefully in Titusville, FL on Saturday September 17th, 2022 at 11:58 p.m.
Born March 4th, 1938 at Mercy hospital to Frank and Alice Levine.
Darleen grew up in Monroe, MI and graduated from Monroe High School. She attended Wayne State University (where she met Pops) and Eastern Michigan University. After Graduation, she became a teacher like her father and many others before her. She loved her grandchildren, the ocean, doing puzzles and Nascar. She was the epitome of a sports fan. Her favorites were the Cleveland Browns and the New Orleans Saints, but if there was a game on, she picked a team and cheered as if they were the only thing that mattered. College basketballs’ March madness tournament was a major interest for her because there were 63 important games to root for underdogs in a very short time. She loved all animals especially Sabrina (her cat) and Charlotte (her wiener dog), but most of all she adored and cherished her family and countless friends. She loved to laugh and always had a beautiful smile on her face. She made an impact on every person that she encountered in a positive way all the way to the finish line. The many friends she made at Titusville Towers (which overlooked the Indian River and the Kennedy Space Center launch pad) all expressed that she was the most wonderful person in the whole place. Her life overflowed with Love and laughter most days, regardless of the challenges she faced.
She is being remembered for her contagious laugh, her heart toward all things and her beautiful smile and of course her annual Christmas letters.
She is survived by her son's Norman (Connie), and Michael (Joni), her daughters Christina Taylor and Julie White(Timothy). Her Grandchildren Brandon, Jacqueline, Kalynn, Halie, Sarah, Rebecca, Teresa, Nichole, Brittney, & Jeremy. Her Sisters Nita Pudlo & Annette Patterson and her Brother Henry Levine (Mary Lou) and too many other family members to list.
Proceeded in death by Robert Peters (Pops) her beloved husband, Frank and Alice Levine (Parents), Vivian (Sister) Danny Taylor (Son In-Law) and her Grandson Erik Jacobsen.

Pancreatic cancer remains the third deadliest cancer in America, with as few as 8% of patients surviving five years after diagnosis, and 71% of those diagnosed given a life expectancy of less than one year to live. Overall, only 1% of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer today are predicted to survive their disease for at least ten years. Her surgery was in 1982. She survived and thrived for 40 years. In lieu of flowers, tax deductible donations to https://pancreasfoundation.org/ or any other foundation of your choice in moms’ name would help others do as mom did and BEAT CANCER.
