David R. Belzer's Obituary
David R. Belzer, age 73, passed away at the Welsh Home in Rocky River on Saturday, November 4, 2017.
He was born in Camden, NJ on November 26, 1943 to the late Robert K. and Mabelle L. (nee Lathrope) Belzer. Cherished brother of Donn W. (Bonnie) Belzer; beloved uncle of Amy (Rocky) Ballachino, Jennifer (Jeremy) Vanderwyst and Andrew (Ashley) Belzer; loving great uncle of Jack and Ryan Ballachino; husband of Susan (nee Rever) Belzer; father of Michael (Katharina) Belzer and Matthew (Mariko) Belzer; grandfather of Hikaru and Akira Belzer; cousin of Gail Brennan.
David graduated from San Diego State University in 1965 before earning his Masters in Eduacation from Rutgers University. He taught Spanish for many years at Triton Regional High School in Runnemade New Jersey, where he was head of the foreign language department. David was an amateur historian of the Civil War period and a dedicated medical service reenactor with the 12th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 10AM until time of service at 12 NOON in the Sunset Chapel 6245 Columbia Rd. North Olmsted, Oh 44070. Burial will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
