David E. Klink's Obituary
David E. Klink, 67, of Chatham Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 8, 2019 surrounded by his loving wife and two children.
David was the son of June Marie Klink (nee Linek), of Montville Township. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Klink. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Sue Klink (nee Biggert); his son, Bryan David Klink; and his wife, Jessica Ellen Devinney, and daughter, Michelle Lynn Schneider. David also had a sister Linda Louise Keller, of Wadsworth. He is also survived by five grandchildren; Corbin Aaron Schneider, Kayla Lynn Schneider, McKenna May Schneider, Riley Ann Klink, and Brynn Harper Klink, a niece, Lisa Marie Keller, and nephews Timothy John Samuel and Matthew Charles Theodore Samuel.
David graduated from Olmsted Falls High School in 1970. He began working for the family business, L.L. Klink and Sons, Inc., a greenhouse construction and maintenance business, in his early teens. He then went on to become a partner in the business with his father as vice president. Several years later David added his high school friend, James W. Keller, as a partner. Following his father’s retirement, David and his partner expanded the greenhouse business to cover nationwide construction and maintenance and insurance work.
David retired at age 62, spending his time working on his 45-acre farm. He enjoyed starting vegetables from seed in his greenhouse, driving his tractors, and landscaping his pristine grounds. He had been an avid boater and fisherman, especially on Lake Erie and the Bahamas.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in David’s name. Donations can be made online at American Cancer Society, Inc..
The family will have visitation from 11:00 to 2:00 at Sunset Memorial Park on Saturday, January 18 in the Westwood Abbey Mausoleum Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm. Sunset Memorial park is located at 6265 Columbia Rd in North Olmsted, OH 44070.
