Marlene Defrenn
I met Denise the first Sunday she visited Hope Lutheran Church. She sat down next to me in the pew, and I assisted her through the service. She joined our church and we quickly became friends. A few years later during a committee meeting, she shared with us in attendance, that first encounter with me guiding her through the service was what led her to join our Church. To hear that was an immense blessing to me. Our children grew up together in the church and public school. I remember when her cat Muffy had a bad reaction to the flea treatment and convolesced for weeks. You may recall the thank you card Muffy sent her (with my help). She carried it in her purse for months showing it to any one she could entertain. Denise & I served the Lord together at church in many capacities, drifting apart when I transferred to ST. Paul Lutheran Church & School in Westlake. I only learned of her illness a couple weeks before she went to be with our Lord but I did get to see her. I thank the Lord for the years we shared. May He be with you during this time, comfort you and give you strength and Peace.
