Dennis M. Schane's Obituary
Dennis Michael Schane, 84, of Olmsted Township, OH passed away on January 3, 2021 following a lengthy battel with Lewy Body Dementia. Just like he dealt with all his life experiences, he managed his illness with strength, humor, and grace. He wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. His final days were spent in his home surrounded by loved ones.
The son of Jack & Elaine Schane (deceased), Dennis grew up in Cleveland. Following high school, he enlisted in the US Army where he was a proud member of the 82nd Airborne Unit. Upon honorable discharge, he went on to earn his bachelor’s & Master’s degrees in Education. Dennis taught at North Royalton City Schools for over 30 years.
One of Dennis’s biggest accomplishments was being a father and grandfather. He considered himself lucky to have had two children: Michael (Barbara) and Meghan Schane-Rambert (David), and was a proud and devoted grandfather to Twila, Lainey, Trevor, & Stone. He was always there for them and taught them to enjoy every moment life has to offer.
Dennis is survived by his children, grandchildren, brother, Jack L. Schane of Oviedo, FL and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Dennis had a larger-than-life personality and made a lasting impression on those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
The family will be holding a private funeral service for immediate family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, Cleveland Clinic Hospice, or a local animal shelter.
