Dennis M. Smalley's Obituary
Dennis M. Smalley, 74, of North Olmsted, passed away May 21, 2017.
He was born in Cleveland, the son of the late Elvin and Juanita (nee Vargo). Dennis is the beloved husband of Wendy (nee Sears) and the late Georgia (nee Kopec), who predeceased him on March 4, 2000; loving father of Laura (Jeffrey) Sturgeon and Leigh (Michael) Smalley-Holstein and step-father of Robert (Angela) Surgenor, Dawn (Wes) Rain and Bryan (Jennifer) Sears; devoted grandfather of Michael (Melissa) Smalley and Alexander and Livia Holstein and step-grandfather of Katelyn, Emily and Tylor Surgenor and Isabella, Layla and Logan Sears ; adored great-grandfather of Mason and Ryan Smalley; dear brother of the late Terrence; cherished son-in-law of Barbara Sears. He proudly served his country and was honorably discharged from the US Marine Corps. Dennis was a painter by trade and began his business, Certified Services, over 50 years ago. An avid fisherman and boater, he also had a love for cars, mainly Vipers and Corvettes. His family was everything to him and he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and the bonds they formed.
Memorial service Friday, May 26, 2017 at 12PM in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cleveland Christian Children’s Home, 11401 Lorain Ave., Cleveland 44111. dostalbokas.com
