Dennis Michael Stricklan's Obituary
Dennis Michael (“Mike”) Stricklan, age 78, of Seminole, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, with his wife, Diane, lovingly at his side holding his hand.
Mike was born on January 16, 1948, in Rockwood, Tennessee to the late Thomas and Willie Rose Stricklan. After graduating valedictorian from Rockwood High School, he moved to Ohio to attend OSU and remained in Ohio for more than 50 years. He initially held positions at UPS and the Columbus Board of Education but spent the majority of his career in management at the NCR Corporation until his retirement in 1994. His major account was the Wendy’s fast food chain, based in Columbus. Besides overseeing the sales and service of Wendy’s point of sales systems (modern computerized cash registers) Mike developed a lifelong love of Wendy’s burgers and Frosties.
Mike also loved reading. He never met a book he wanted to part with so over the years he built an extensive and impressive home library. Mike’s other joys in life were golfing, snow skiing, wine tasting, taking long walks, and traveling—especially to ski resorts, wineries and the beach. A shared love of warm weather and the ocean—and extreme dislike of shoveling snow—is what led Mike and Diane to move south, finding their little piece of paradise in Seminole, Florida, in 2017.
In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by his brothers Barry and Tony and his son-in-law Keith.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Diane (nee Pikula), dear children Michael (Teresa) and Michelle Harrison (Keith-deceased) and grandchildren, Ian and Andy Stricklan, and Kyle and Neil Harrison. Mike will be greatly missed.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 12:30pm, with a service following at 1:30pm. A luncheon will be provided for all guests immediately following the service. He will be laid to rest in the Westwood Abbey Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
