Diana was born a Mastney, daughter of Eddie Mastny, a first cousin to my father George Mastny. That makes Dianna my second cousin. Back in the 1980s, Dianna shared a trove of genealogy information about the Mastny (Mastney) family with my wife and me, and we were able to help her fill in some blanks too. There are numerous Mastny descendants in northern Illinois.

Dianna was friendly and generous. I’m sorry I have no memory of meeting her in person, although I do remember visiting Eddie and Erna’s farm in Ohio many years ago.

Have thought about George and Dianna since last seen at the Family History Center for more than 20 years, first as a patron then a volunteer. Always loved hearing her stories. We worked together Thursdays until her Mom passed away. Wasn't the same after that. Rest in His loving care. Don't let the deer eat the flowers.
